Well, if all my cardiac foibles weren’t enough, yesterday a new layer of intrigue was added to the roster.
Around mid-day I noticed that my heart was racing. I initially chalked it up to an anxiety attack. When squared breathing and other techniques failed to quell the pounding in my chest I called – and was beckoned by the fantastic Dr. Rosenbaum to Columbia Presbyterian.
Upon arrival he gave me an EKG that revealed – basically – that I have what is called an “Atrial Flutter.” Basically part of my heart is beating faster than the other.
Tomorrow I will undergo an “EP” and perhaps a procedure called – I believe – an Atrial Ablution. (Please forgive any spelling errors.)
Hopefully this entry posts. I’ll send another update as soon as I can.
