I like neckties and I try to wear one every day. Lets see if I can make a swing through my entire collection.
The tie of the day is red and black wide striped Repp tie from Huntington. This tie was given to me by my father lo the many years ago and I believe may be my oldest surviving tie in terms of service to Traveler Bill Industries.
And the knot of the day requires some background. This past year there has been a great deal of coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. Somewhere I have seen an interview with Prince Charles where he is wearing a tie with what appeared to be a Four-in-Hand knot. Now if there was a “Traveler Bill” knot I LITERALLY would never use another knot. I don’t know how he could not use one of the TWO knots named Windsor. Both invented by, or named for, his ancestors. Well it iappears as though he may not have been wearing a Four-In-Hand, but a knot known as the Victoria, Simple Double or even the Prince Albert Knot.
This tie is much too Essendon for my liking. Grumble!
