One day I was walking to the Whitehall MTA Station and I thought I saw a turkey in Battery Park. Little did I know that it was Zelda the Turkey a well known denizen of the park.
I can confirm that Zelda made it through Superstorm Sandy. The photos below predate the storm but I have seen her since.
The most amazing thing about this whole thing is that in the nearly 10 years that turkey has been in the city a hobo hasn’t cooked it over a fire in a can.
