Summer Reading in the 21st Century

Traveler Bill Towers was shut down this week so all the indentured servants, err interns, could enjoy a vacation. I took the opportunity to catch up on the summer reading, and by summer reading I mean I went to see movies.

Here are my 20 Second Movie Reviews (patent pending) of the films I saw.

  • Superman Returns: Hey Brian Singer…We get it…You’re comparing him to the Christ. Jeez, ever hear of subtlety?
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest: Johnnie Depp minces about for about eight hours and completely squanders all the good will from the first film. That said, still not as horrible a sequel as The Matrix Reloaded. (emphasis on LOAD)
  • A Prairie Home Companion: Somehow captured the inherent excitement of an NPR broadcast.
  • Clerks II: 12 years and these guys can’t take an acting class?
  • My Super Ex-Girlfriend: I actually enjoyed this film, though probably the least clever of all the films I saw. (Including Pirates)
  • An Inconvenient Truth: Traveler Bill Industries is an unapologetically apolitical site. That caveat aside, I would hope all my reader would look at the science on this subject (as I intend to) before passing judgment.

Are you still an enthusiastic sound effects participant in the coming attractions ?
