Pain de Me!
I like to cook. I’ve occasionally posted dishes I’ve made and to be honest there are twice as many abandoned posts that I started and never finished.
I planned on baking a “Pan de Mie” last Sunday. It was going to be the first the first thing made on our KitchenAid Pro 600 Stand Mixer for two months.
It was then that the gears of the motor stripped while kneading a large batch of bread dough. Unable to find a convenient repair shop in Brooklyn we opted to bring it to Lake Electronics in Albany when we visited over Thanksgiving. My swell nephew Burt dropped it off and picked it up for us and we reclaimed it over Christmas.
I plugged it in when we got home and it seemed to work.
But let me back up a moment.
For a long time I have wanted to make this recipe from King Arthur Flour
Then last month I won a $50 gift card at work last month and used it partially at A Cooks Companion to buy this Pullman Loaf pan.
I did my mise en place and set out to finally make myself a loaf of pain de mie. And this is what I experienced. (Essentially, this is a reenactment with Traveler Nell)
